Like any other machine, PC computers need maintenance. If you
want a quick fix to an annoying problem with no long term
agreement, use our QuickTech.
However, over time, computers slow down, freeze up (or lock up), and may be invaded by
malware,
spyware or even viruses. They accumulate junk files similar
to how engine oil accumulates sludge just from regular use. So, you
can either pay a small amount for maintenance now or pay much more for repairs later.
Also, computer software needs regular updating. However, a technician
has to replace you at your computer to do all this maintenance.
If you were having it done in your home, you would have to straighten up your house,
dress appropriately, and lock up the dog if a technician were on the way. In
a small office, the option of letting the technician in after hours may not
be available or practical. Why should computer
maintenance be such trouble? At OnlinePCWorks we give you the peace of mind knowing that
your computers are
maintained regularly, and, most of the time, without interrupting
your use of the computer. Remote
Tech Support allows us to conduct our 20-point1
regularly scheduled maintenance on your PC, fix problems as they occur, update your
computer, and provide you
with tech support by email (phone and chat support available
for businesses). All of this can be
done remotely during the hours your computers are not in use.
Combined with a service program,
we take on the responsibility of the
health of your computer software. It is kind of like "health-insurance"
for a computer and you have the benefit of expert advice from a technician and computer science
college teacher. Remote Tech Support (RTS) has no long-term
commitment so you can quit at any time with just a couple of mouse clicks.

We a technician with real-time service to your PC computer. While subscribing, your computer will be made to run
smoother, faster and will be much less likely to have software failures.
During a subscription, we
maintain your computer for you. Should
a software failure occur while under a subscription, you are eligible for Crash Prevention and Recovery (CPR).
You pay no additional cost for service, just the amount of your next
service, hardware extra. If it is a computer or
Windows failure, you simply pay for your
next maintenance visit.
However, if we do a good job maintaining your computer, it may never crash until
you upgrade it. Then we can also help you with purchase and installation
of the upgrades.
An additional benefit that can be added is PCGlobal. With it, you can log into your own
computer from anywhere in the world from any computer that is
on the Internet. At which time, you can remotely work on your own computer, using
your programs, files and settings just like you were sitting at your desk.
Once you start RTS, ask about PCGlobal. Remember, you can pay
us a small fee for service now or pay a large bill for repairs later.
A good computer maintenance program pays for itself
many times over in the life of the computer and increased productivity.
Preventive
maintenance will cause a computer to run faster, slicker and
there will be less likelihood for a computer crash or
computer lock up thereby increasing your
productivity. We have two Remote Tech Support
service plans to which you can subscribe.
Standard mosthome and small businesscomputers
All Updates, elimination of spyware, viruses and
adware, malware, slow computer, fix corruption on the hard drive, all
temp file cleanup, RTS, record all technical data, restore point, one
backup of (My) Documents, antivirus, one hardware visit per period in
Jacksonville, FL, one online service login to your computer, plus
email support for service related issues*. Additional logins may
incur a charge. Renewal is $59 and is for six months for home
computers and three months for business computers. Upon receipt of
renewal fee, we log on to your computer and perform maintenance and stay
on call for another subscription period.

backups, unlimited service logins to your computer, phone and email
support, unlimited online repair sessions during subscription, unlimited
hardware visits in Jacksonville, FL, and Crash Prevention and Recovery.

*Service related issues means problems
with the operating system or malware. RTS does not include teaching
clients how to use the computer, support of installed software, or
related issues. Also not covered are Internet connection or email
issues which is done with your internet service provider. However, some additional services will be extended
to Premier members where possible.
There is a $30 additional charge for very slow computers and those with
file sharing (no dial-up accepted). The subscription and any additional
agreement is void should the client install any file-sharing program to
illegally copy music and other media in violation of copyright law.
These programs are illegal and are breeding grounds for the most sever
viruses and spyware.

If you have Skype and would rather just talk to a technician about your
computer problem, use your Skype Credits and:

computer:

PCWorks' Remote Tech Support: Renewal subscription periods are quarterly for
businesses and professionals, but semiannual for personal computers in
the home. Once payment is received, we log into your computer using
RTS and perform all the services at your chosen Level of Service
and you also continue to have the personal tech support we promised for
the next renewal period (3mos or 6mos).
Problem computers: And additional $30 is charged for problem computers,
ones that are very slow, crashes frequently, is infected by a virus, needs
a lot of maintenance, or has an excessively fragmented hard drive.
These computers will usually require services that are in addition to
the normal maintenance tasks performed during RTS sessions. Crash Prevention and Recovery: (Jacksonville, FL only)
Should the computer become completely inoperative, requiring a physical
repair,
you do not pay for the recovery (normally $25 +
$49/hr), you just pay for your next service renewal, additional software
or hardware extra.

Security Notes: Remote Tech Support Maintenance
involves running a small program. However, with a subscription, you can
temporarily disable it. When we plan a scheduled maintenance, we will message you in
advance. By having regular, preemptive maintenance, your computer runs
better and you greatly reduce the likelihood of computer crashes, spyware, popups, and virus infections as well as staying
up to date on the latest updates. Any time you need assistance, even if it is just a question about
how to use your computer, email us. Questions should be concerning
your
computer hardware, Windows, or utility software, but we have sometimes helped
people with programs, though that is left up to the publisher of the program.
Computers in the Jacksonville Florida area can include hardware replacement at the regular
hourly rate plus cost of the
hardware if the computer is brought to us. Add $25 if we have to travel to you.
Standard RTS includes one hardware visit per subscription period and Premier
includes unlimited hardware visits per period.

Leave your computer running overnight when service is planned
Pay renewal fees before getting any renewal services
Should subscription lapse, pay initial setup fee to resume
Terms and conditions asked of PCWorks by other vendors as part
of our work.
What RTS is not:
A repair service
Instruction on how to use the computer or software
Warranty service (except if the computer was bought new through
PCWorks)
Software installation
Hardware installation
Each of the above are available for a
fee.
Remote Tech Support and QuickTech are strictly
for preventive maintenance. Though there may be some recovery involved,
clients should not assume that PCWorks has any responsibility for lost data,
programs, operating system, software or hardware. Though we do all we can
to keep your computer running well, we do not assume any liability, both
expressed or implied, except as provided by law. We make no warrantees or
guarantees, both express or implied. Any computer for which we have no
connection for more than 30 days will be be disconnected. A $10
reconnection fee will apply to reconnect during the subscription period.
Otherwise, the full reinstatement cost of $99 will be required if after the
subscription expires. Clients should be advised that we do
not support any computer that has been used for file sharing, surfing of pornographic, gambling or illegal web
sites or for any illegal activity. Also, we do not support a computer any
time another technician works on the computer, any internal hardware is replaced
by anyone, the computer or its settings is tampered with or there is any
external damage (such as if it were dropped). Any of these instances will void
anything claimed on this web site, our printed literature or any other claims
verbal or otherwise.
