The Problem:
Telecommuting has become a way of life for many Americans. You
may need the mobility to work from home, office, classroom, laboratory, or
even a coffee shop. Maybe you are a professional and you find
yourself at various locations during the day, but your office or home PC
is very much a part of your work. It has essential programs you use
that are not on your handheld computer,
thumb drive or
PDA. Maybe you own
a small business and you have similar circumstances, or maybe you are a
teacher and you have files divided between your computer at home and the
one in the classroom.
The Solution: PCGlobal gives you the mobility to get to your main computer from any
computer in the world as long as it is connected to the Internet.
With PCGlobal, you can log on to your computer, run your programs,
transfer files and much more from anywhere just like you were sitting at
it. PCGlobal can:

Instructions
Use the form above to place your order. Once we have your order,
we will have to call you to set up the connection. Then, we will
email you with your
user ID and password and a link to instructions as to
what to do next. Once you log in, you will see a
link to your computer. When you click on it, you will connect to
your computer, but you will not see the desktop just yet. To do that
you must click
Remote Control.
When your
desktop appears you will see some small boxes at the lower right
and one more at the upper right. You can close them and from that
point on, it is the keyboard and mouse in front of you but your computer
on the monitor. To log off, click Disconnect and then Logout.
PCGlobal uses advance VPN software that installs
software to your base computer. This allows you to connect to it
from anywhere in the world through this web site. Once installed,
you can connect to it usually through any firewall. When you
connect, a small file will download to the connecting computer. This
small file is temporary and should not affect the computer, but some
systems, such as at work or in a public library, my block this download.
Also, the machine may call for an ActiveX control to be downloaded.
Once connected, you will see your desktop just like you were sitting at
it. You can open the programs on you base computer and open all the
files without having to transfer anything. You can also run programs
on the computer at which you are sitting and copy and past across both
computers. Should you need a file on both computers, you can use the
file transfer feature to copy or move files from either computer.
You can also use the chat window to communicate with someone sitting at
the other computer.
TechTip: How To Clean Your Mouse
Open the mouse from the bottom like this:

Then with your finger nail, a pocket knife or a cotton swab with
alcohol, clean off any debris on the rollers or wheel. Shake the
mouse to release the debris, then return the ball and cover. |
